REPUBLICAN CONFERENCE “MY CARBON FOOTPRINT” ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ECOPATRUL PROJECT WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE QOLDA PROGRAM

Since 2019, in accordance with the plan of the United Nations Development Program (hereinafter – UNDP), students of the College of Radio Engineering and Communications have participated in the project “Reduce your carbon footprint” under the leadership of Asemgul Tlektesovna, a teacher of special disciplines and Sultanbekova Karlygash Kudashevna, a teacher of chemistry and biology. This project was defended before the members of the UN Development Program and on the Kazakhstan Semey TV channel.

On October 21, 2021, a republican conference “My Carbon Footprint” was organized at the College of Radio Engineering and Communications under the leadership of the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia under the implementation of the ECOPATRUL project within the framework of the QOLDA 3.0 program.

Purpose of the conference: activation of ecological thinking, formation of eco-culture through education and training programs, involvement of students in the implementation of the Eco Patrol project on environmental issues.

Teachers of chemistry and biology, college students of Semey participated offline, and teachers and students of Ust-Kamenogorsk connected via the ZOOM platform.

College volunteers make a great contribution to preserving the environment. They organize raids to clear our city, in particular, the island of peace. In addition, they do a lot of things in different directions. College was shown a video about the work of volunteers.

Rakhmetova Ayym, a student of the College of radio engineering and communications, and Sultanbekova Karlygash Kudashevna, a teacher of chemistry and Biology, told what a carbon footprint is, what it consists of, and whether planting trees can help it.

Practical part of the conference: college students Abisov Alisher, Zabunov Dmitry together with the teacher of special disciplines Alkhanova Asemgul Tlektesovna developed a calculator for calculating the carbon footprint.

At the end of the conference, students and leaders were awarded letters of thanks from the Family Center.
